On April 24 2013, the Rana Plaza building in Bangladesh collapsed. 1,138 people died and another 2,500 were injured, making it the fourth largest industrial disaster in history. There were five garment factories in Rana Plaza all manufacturing clothing for big global brands. The victims were mostly young women. Since then, people from all over the world have come together to use the power of fashion to change the world.1 Now, it's all about simplicity and transparency for the consumer. At Maison Frida, we chose to produce fewer products and propose just two collections per year. Re-think Progress: The Circular Economy

At Maison Frida, we make quality garments that last, that can be repaired, that are timeless and therefore can be handed down, from one kid to the other. Some parents will say, that they prefer buying cheap clothing for their kids, knowing that their kids will outgrow the clothes in 6 months! This line of thought results in overconsumption of clothes, which end up in landfills, and an exhaustion of natural resources.
